Many new vehicle technologies require repair facilities to address vehicle fluids in coordination with the repair. Radar alignment work procedures may require the technician to fill the fuel tank, and then check that the coolant and oils are filled up to the correct level before performing the calibration procedures. Some automakers specify non-generic fluids to ensure the proper specifications, cooling ranges, viscosity and lubrication capabilities. Following procedures for draining and refilling, and adhering to local and national requirements for proper disposal all become critical aspects to consider and communicate in the repair plan.
