Replicating matte, satin and low-gloss finishes can create added complexity in the repair process. Consumers often pay additional for these unique refinish applications, which add to the purchase price and can add to the maintenance requirements to keep the distinctively soft looking finish. In the repair process, imperfections can’t be wet sanded away, and so there is a significant amount of added work that goes into preparation, booth maintenance and operation, and technician isolation. Barry and Michael talk through some of the challenges, and ways in which their teams address them when they see a bespoke matte finish come in for collision repair.
