Trailer Assistance options are great features that can help when lining up your vehicle hitch ball with a trailer coupler, or when steering a trailer.

Trailer Assistance is a part of the Parking Assistance system. Kris and Joel describe how it assists the driver with visual guidance while backing towards a trailer or during backing maneuvers with a trailer attached. Some systems may provide additional images while driving or backing with a trailer, and some systems may provide steering assistance during backing maneuvers.

This series was filmed by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (www.scrs.com) and I-CAR (www.I-CAR.com) to help consumers better understand the safety systems and functions potentially found on their vehicles, and considerations those systems may contribute to the repair process. Terminology used is common naming, and not meant to replace automaker proprietary system or package names.
