This series was filmed by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (www.scrs.com) and I-CAR (www.I-CAR.com) to help consumers better understand the safety systems and functions potentially found on their vehicles, and considerations those systems may contribute to the repair process. Terminology used is common naming, and not meant to replace automaker proprietary system or package names.

In this video, Todd and Joel discuss the Automatic Emergency Steering feature, which is a part of the collision intervention systems. This feature detects potential collisions with a vehicle ahead and automatically steers to avoid or lessen the severity of impact. Some systems also detect pedestrians or other objects.
