Mechanicsville, Virginia, June 24, 2026 – The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold an open board meeting on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois.

SCRS invites industry professionals to attend this open meeting for updates on association initiatives, member programs, and key issues affecting the collision repair industry. The event provides local businesses with a valuable opportunity to engage in a national-level discussion, hear directly from SCRS leadership, industry experts, and legislative voices, and join peers from across the country in conversations influencing the industry’s future.

The SCRS Education Committee has organized a presentation from Zach Pucillo, CSP, CHMM, Regulatory Director at KPA, who will address OSHA and environmental health and safety (EHS) issues that collision repair shops commonly overlook, as well as the ramifications of non-compliance. KPA is a provider of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and Workforce Compliance software and services, helping businesses identify, remedy, and prevent workplace safety and compliance problems across their organizations. Pucillo brings specialized expertise in regulatory compliance and will share practical guidance to help shop owners and operators identify vulnerabilities and take proactive steps to protect their businesses and employees.

The July open meeting will also include an update from attorney Patrick McGuire, on behalf of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Illinois (AASPI). McGuire will share about association activity, including an overview of active advocacy efforts and their implications for repair businesses operating in the state.

AASPI is an SCRS affiliate association representing automotive service providers across Illinois, with a long history of influencing state legislation, advancing consumer protections, and championing the interests of collision repairers through the legislative process. Among AASPI’s current priorities is SB 2708, the Right to Appraisal in Auto Insurance Bill, which has been filed with the Illinois General Assembly and would give consumers and repair facilities the right to an independent appraisal when a dispute arises with an insurance company over repair costs.

McGuire’s presentation will offer attendees a ground-level view of how advocacy work across the state is progressing and what the outcomes could mean for collision repairers in Illinois and beyond.

The SCRS open meeting is free to attend and open to all industry participants. Membership in SCRS is not required, and pre-registration is not necessary. Seating is first-come, first-served. This meeting offers collision repair professionals the opportunity to stay informed about industry trends, address challenges facing their businesses, and directly influence initiatives through meaningful dialogue with association leadership and subject-matter experts.
